Kim has represented clients in the areas of civil litigation, civil appeals, insurance litigation and insurance coverage for more than 25 years. She regularly manages appeals across the State of Texas and in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and has written more than 100 appellate briefs during her career. She also has broad experience defending contractual, extra-contractual and bad faith allegations, resolving complex damage and coverage matters, and analyzing complicated contractual issues in both the business and insurance arenas.
Kim advises primary and excess insurers on all aspects of coverage. She drafts coverage opinions, reservations of rights and denial letters. She has extensive experience defending first-party and third-party claims in cases involving commercial general liability, property, auto, homeowners and professional liability policies. She has particular familiarity with the construction and trucking industries.
In each representation, Kim calls upon her strong analytical and writing skills to frame and argue complicated issues and positions her clients seek to communicate in a manner that is easy to understand for judges and juries alike. She dedicates herself to creating a winning strategy unique to each case. Kim’s efforts are responsible for the development of favorable case law positively affecting the insurance industry and the defense bar throughout the State.
Kim is married to her high school sweetheart and has two beautiful children. She is active in her church and her kids’ schools.
